Dear Prasanna, In the light of your history you would benefit from an IUI cycle. Our aim is to produce 3 or 4 eggs rather than just one. We prefer to give the trigger once the leading follicle crosses 20 mm. The overall success rate for IUI is about 30 – 35% per attempt. Sometimes three or four cycles may be required to succeed.

In the US the doctor triggers anytime after the follicle reaches 16mm in the injectable FSH cycle and if on clomiphene then the trigger is usually when follicle is at 18mm. So I think your 17.4mm was ok to trigger.

If it helps u, pls know that I have had 4 IUIs done (2 with clomihene and 2 with injectable FSH) , all negative results. IUIs may or may not work-no guarantee. I too have all tests normal and am 30yrs old, unexplained case. Usually doctors do 4-6 IUIs before they advice IVF.

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still risk... - SS [View Message]
