Hetal - i think you are aware of my sons problem
1. How is this problem being treated in US, what are the outcomes of the same
2. What is actualy duration of this problem, when does the child has its own metobalism started
3. What are the repercussions of hyperammonia on the child
4. If the problem persists for a longer duration what r the chances of survival.
5. If these kind of cases have been handled in US and if you recommed that we have him treated there and if I bring him there for a treatment, can i insurance covered for that same.
Now wld like to come to current problem.
He wil finishing his 7th month on 11th Aug, he weighs only 6.3 kgs and lengh 61 cms. I am worried that he is not putting on weight. I have a major problem, he does not want to drink milk at all and demands all the time from me, i am a working mother earlier i used to express but with so much of work pressure find very diff to express. He takes only 30 ml of milk once in an hr of maximum of 60 - 70 ml of milk once in 2 hrs or 3 hrs. when compared to his age kids - he jus looks like a 3 months old baby. I give 3 spoons ragi porride in the morning and give him rice with potato, carrot, salt and ghee twice ( 2 small cups - ~ 200 ml) i tried wheat and apple cerelac - he completes detest the very taste of it and i once gave him banana milk shake microwaved with lil honey and had a bad cough after that. So i stopped, Can u suggest somethings so that my baby puts on weight. We also get gerber food in some of the outlets in bangalore but dont think all variety - But wanted to check if it is sweet then he wld not eat. We approached his ped and he gave me a chart which went over my head and moreover his ped is more concerned bout his ammonia levels than he putting on weight. Otherwise he is all active, he tries to stand now and keeps falling quite often and gets hurt on his head.
pls advice
