Hi Folks,
Have any of you discussed circumcision in the vent that you have a son? I have been reading a little about it, and the trend now is about 50-50 even in the US (it used to be close to 90% in favour of until a few years ago). There are arguements for and against. Being a scientist myself, I am not completely convinced that it is necessary.
In India most of our families probably never thought about it when our generation came into the world. I was just wondering about the trend now..both in India and amongst Indians abroad.

Hey Priya, I am in the same boat as your are...
Moreover, I dont think I want to put the baby through all that pain and make a decision that will affect the rest of his life...
If I am not mistaken, the procedure is mainly done for reasons related to Hygene and there are other less painful alternatives to keep that area clean..in my humble opinion
Like you said, most of our generation survived without circumcision, so I bet our future generations will do too..

I will have to do more research on the trends and other reasons involved in going forth with the procedure....Thanks for this remainder..
