My son is 9 months 1 week old. Here are his physical dimensions.
Birth weight: 2.9 kgs
Birth height: 51 cms
Birth head circumference: 33cms.
Height: 79 Cms.
Weight: 9.2 kgs.
Head circumference: 44.
1) Is he too tall? though he looks skinny & tall. Is he too tall measurements wise? Does it have any impacts?
2)Is his head circumferece is small? Do I need worry about this?
Please advise
Thanks

Hetal replied. 1. hght, wght doesnt matter when it comes to development, unless your baby is exceptnally heavy,,if heavy thn he would take a while in milestones like crawlng, standing or walkng..
2. baby being tall or short or heavy or not, or havng small head or not,,all depnds on the body type of parents and also on ne other family hstry,,,its small or big that your dr will determine,,as measurement not only matter,,esp if its the head circumfernce, physical view gives a better idea of normalcy. esp the head shape...
so as far as your dr is not worried about the measurements, dont get concerned,,,
and also to add, babies head tend to look or measure bigger thn proprtnate body wght until 12months of thr life,,once thr body starts to build muscle tone and starts toning up after 1 year, you will find that it look just right !!
to me , with all stats you gave,,
your child wght looks ok, hght looks good and head circumfernce is ok. if the hght is more, expect your child to look skiny,,but it doesnt mean he is low % at health !
he is 9months, he is ready for all fat and protein rich foods,,offer that and it should help ! or else lemme know his morning to evening meals n we can add some proteins or fat in it,,if its required..
rest allok,,good luck

8:00 - 9:00 : BF(usually Cereal with sweet lime/Orange juice + some fruit)/idli/Suji ka kheer. /// offer raagi or iron fortified cereal/gerber or ne other,,most 9months kids are ready for adult cereal or toddler cereal if available at your place,,that has good iron and fibre..look for those,,,
11:00 : Fruit.//// good !(Pearsauce/Pappaya/sapota & banana mix)
12:30: BF.//// good
2:00 : Lunch(kichidi)Rice/ragi dal, vegetables.(I add ghee to his food)... /// start him with cheese and introduce first time as a part of khichdi,,while cooking if in pressure cooker, put some cheese, mostly look for the one that is hard sharp cheddar or american or colby jack cheese. never use cheese that more than 5 ingrediants..look the ingrediants sections,,never use the cheese that has word renett in it !
4:30-5:00 : Fruit. /// let this be a seperate serving of yogurt or replace this with diluted fruit juice,,do this alterntly...offer yogurt or fruit juice with a small snack say a multigrain toast or bread nicely roasted in ghee or butter and add cheese to it or offer with cream cheese or sour cream..avoid jams...if your child likes it, look for fruit preserves that are sugar free.or offer the juice or yogurt with some cheese crackers or some other toddler snacks/gerber or ne other toddler snack,,most kids are ready for gerber graduates and they are just right as thr finger foods...
6:30: BF.//no comments.
8:30 : Dinner. Kichidi/Cereal with Vegetables.//// start offering your child multigrain or combined grain foods. also start him on roti soaked in dal and start offering mild family foods that you all eat..start him on whole grain diet from next month, i.e.10months..and it will help.
10:30 -11:00: BF. // no comments.
if he is full he should not wake up for night feed,,however, bf, babies do wakeup at night for feeds,,just make sure its not the habit !
also, add in cheese, curd, cream cheese and sour cream to his diet.
offer egg yolk as a part of meals in khichdi or mashed in dal,,and also offer pastas..pastas makes great finger foods,,look for the ones that are made in multigrain or whole grain,,avoid enriched flour pastas.
rest all is good and timings are also well placed !good luck
