My periods were late in January and since I had irregular periods I wasn't worried.But I started
having spotting and that went on for 2 weeks.I also started having nausea and was thinking that maybe I
am suffering from a major disease.My husband suggested I take the pregnancy test but I was so sure
that it will come negative because last year I had taken the tests several times and got frustrated
seeing it come negative every time.
But finally in February second week I decided to take the test and it came positive.Still I couldn't believe it and set up an
appointment with my doctor.And the rest is history!!We were so so happy.

.I have been married 5 years..we both been thru a lot of losses past years...and tensions..i used to walk around before marriage with a pillow bugging praveen this is how i would look ..anyway had other duties to take care of, we just spoke casually to start trying this year
and really didn't think i would be pregnant, since i am always on time,,one day delay and i was at the pharmacy saw two faint pink lines...i said to my self\";\";are u nuts...it cannot be, maybe an error..\"; didn't tell praveen, i couldn't believe myself..since one pack had two tests so got up early morning, as usual morning rush of getting ready to work and when praveen went in to have his bath i ran to take the test...and still positive..i first went was shaking, prayed to GOd, hoping Pa and Ma heard..
poor husband came out rushing to get dressed in time..and i cannot forget his face with hair dripping wet..and me showing him the test..and he was like whats that..he just sat down..clown that he is and he couldn't believe it either, went again got another set of test..so in all we took 3 tests to digest the news..still we waited to tell our friends and close family after the doc. confirmation..I have a snap of the three positive tests..it still makes me laugh because the pharmacy lady had this puzzled look seeig me and wondering why we dropped in so often to take so many tests..she still smiles seeing me with my growing tummy.. :)

Sandhya replied. This is such a lovely idea of Nick. We've been married for 2 years. When we were first married in Dec 2000, I used to take pills, but in May 2002, I decided to stop the pills as my gynae in India advised me to do so. She said that the body needs around 3 mths to get rid of the toxins of the pills. I was also going to go to Bombay for my sis's wedding and didn't want to be pregnant then. After we came back in Nov, we started trying. In Feb I did not get my periods. But I decided to wait for 2 weeks before I did the HPT. I did the HPT on Fri 21, and it turned positive. But by then I had already indicated to both sets of parents about the 'good news'. On 24 Feb, I was to start work in a new job and was scared how my new boss would react. Luckily he was very understanding and said as lonfg as it didn't interfere with my job, my being pregnant was OK with him. The same day evening I went to my gynae to confirm my pregnancy and I got a second pieceof news. We were expecting twins! 24 Feb is a red letter day in our lives. We told our parents the double news and they were also very thrilled!!!

Its really rice to read all of ur stories. We were thinking of having baby when we will complete our 3rd anniversary which is 30th jan. my periods are very regular(28 days cycle) so when i got my periods on 19th jan we decided we will try this time to have a baby as our anni is on 30th jan and that was the time only when i was ovulating. so we tried. my periods were due on 17th feb and i did hpt on 18th morning at 5 am and it was positive. we were so thrilled. can't explain how we felt. Still can't beleive that i got concieved on my anniversary day.

My periods are always late in severe winter weather.So when I was late this January,I really didnt think I was pregnant, neither did I have any symptoms.After a week from my period date, I decided to take the HPT.It was positive.Both of us were very happy.We confirmed it with the doc on Feb 4th.
It is still very hard to beleive that we are going to be mom and dad pretty soon.But waiting eagerly to see our baby. Manisha replied. WOW!!! its just great to read all your experiences.
We planned the pregnancy after too much pressure from parents. We were close to 2 years of marriage. In december i went for my physical checkup just to check if everything is fine before getting pregnant. Doc said that it takes 4-6 months at your age to get pregnant. So after my periods in january we finally decided to try for it thinking that we have atleast 4 more months. My cycle was always very regular 27-28 days. It was 28th day evening & i had a little spotting, i assumed it to be periods, and used the napkin. Next day nothing happened, so by the evening i did the test at home and it came positive. It was 21st feb that day. My husband was still waiting for doc's assurance, as he was trying to prepare himself in next 3-4 months. We got the appointment for next week. After doc's assurance I was very excited to tell it to both moms and they sounded more excited than me. It is really diffcult for me to imagine my husband as a dad. he himself is like a kid. He has never spent a long time before with any of his nephews/niece. I just hope that he is ready for this new responsibilty.
It was my 13th week when I found this board, which kept on growing, and I have so many friends today.

Manvi replied. Well we were just back from a trip to Cincinnati&when i didn't get my period in Feb i was doubtful[as we just had decided to keep our options open for a family]but kept it to myself ,assuming just a delay due to the recent trip&stress.
Actually like Anu i too had been on the pill/patch for a while&though i had quit it[it was just my first mth off the pill!!!].
My hub was too smart&pestered me to try the EPT on 18th Feb.It was a holiday i've forgotten why&we went to CVS&bought the kit&gosh i tested positive.I almost cried&my hub and me felt so senti we had reached another milestone in our relationship.

I got married last september.We planned to have baby only after 2 yrs.But as everyone in india asked us every time whether we had some good news we decided to have a baby.So we tried from november and on december 6th i was expecting my periods but as i didn't get it till 11th so we did a HPT.It came out positive.We were happy.We went to the doctor and she also confirmed that iam pregnant.But the following morning i had bleeding.So my hubby got afraid and took me to the emergency room as it was saturday.They did many tests and said that iam not pregnant.But the doctor we visited before said that i was pregnant and also the HPT came positive.So i became upset and started crying.my hubby consoled me and i came back to normal after a week.Again the next month i did'nt get my periods.I didn't want to take the HPT test.So after 20 days of delay i took the HTP and found that it showed positive.But i did'nt find it as a happy news as the same thing happened last month too.So i waited and waited for 45 days and then went to the doctor and then he took the blood test and other tests and confirmed that iam pregnant.We were very happy.But till now iam not able to belive that iam pregnant due to that first incident(still shocked by it).But now days when my baby kicks i feel very happy.My hubby's birthday is on august 31st.Our anvi is on sept 11th and baby's birthday is in october month.SO celebration is in a line.okay girls enjoy your pregnancy.bye

We decided to wait for 2 years.Since our anniversary is in Jan So started trying and my period were supposed to be on 14 Feb.I have already took Doc. appointment for just a check up before getting pregnant.It was on 20 feb.when my period didn't started on 14 .I waited for 5 days since they were irregular always.On 19 we couldn't wait and decided to have home test.It came positive..we were thrilled .The next day I had the appointment with the doc.

I can't forget the reaction of my husband on 19 feb.I was also too happy but at the same time nervous..

As u all know that its not even a year for my marriage but its been almost an yr and half that we know each other.And we both love kids so we decided why to wait and to have a baby on our first anniversarry itself.So this jan i was hoping that my periods won't start but it started nd we both were disappointed.But then in Feb almost 7 days had passed that my period didn't started so we thought that now is the time to do the test at home.And then when i did the test it came positive,oh that was the most wonderful moment.And on 04th Mar we had our appmnt with the Dr and then it was confirmed.
So this is it and now i am with all of u sharing the October board.

Thanks for starting a fun topic!
I was about a week late, but since I was in Detroit for work I ignored it for awhile. When I got into Detroit airport to return home, I had a bout of nausea, and then I was kind of apprehensive. I did not have an Obgyn as we had just relocated to Charlotte. I then called 411 on my cell, and found the closed hospital to my workplace and fixed an appt for Monday.
My husband was also returning home from California, so we met up at the Charlotte airport and drove to Walgreens and picked up a EPT. Next morning, we tested and there was a bright line....we just stared at it, and then started jumping around in glee. That was on March 1st. Went for the appt. on March 3rd and since I would have already been 6 weeks along, the doctor did an ultrasound and we saw a heartbeat!!! It was such an amazing sight. To make matters even more wonderful, the doctor gave us the expected delivery date as Oct 27th, which is our wedding anniversary!
My birthday is on March 5th and I could not have asked for a better present from God.

We wanted to wait till our 4th anniversary. Then we started trying in Dec/Jan. Feb 2 I was expecting my periods but anyway bfore hand had bout a HPT. I cudnt wait for my periods, wanted to test right away, I had no symptoms though.
Feb 2, it was a sunday and I tested at 7am or so and then woke my hub with the +ve line in the HPT. He was very happy too, it was life changing. I still have preserved that HPT result. But Feb 20 was another memorable day coz thats when I knew it was twins.
Its a nice day to cherish in life right.

Very nice topic.

We started planning for baby this year 2003. I took pills last 1 and 1/2 year. After I stopped pills, my periods were irregular. We waited till 6 months and then started seeing 28 days as my periodic cycle. So checked in ovlution calculator and planned in Jan. Waited for periods in feb that were due on 11th (based on 28 days). Didnot see them. 12th and 13th I was keep on checking if I was bleeding (was also hoping to get pregnant). 13th evening I bought the pregnancy test strip. Feb 14th morning I checked, and it came positive.

So we came to know that I am pregnant on valentines day and that was a very big valentine gift for each other. So, here I am in the october moms list.
