Hi,

My 1 year old daughter has 4 teeth ( 2 on top from past 2 months and 2 on bottom from past 4 months). Recently I noticed some blackness on her bottom teeth (or may be it is greyish). I dont know if it has appeared recently or it was there from start and I'm noticing it only now.

Are baby teeth like that? I dont brush her teeth with fingers/brush. I'm worried that it may be cavity. Is there such a possibility? What should I do?

Hi,

My 1.5 yr old also has the blackness on his teeth. But it is because of the Iron supplement. If you too are giving any kind of IRON / Multivitamin supplement, please give him water to drink and move your fingers on his teeth so that the iron doesnt stay on in his mouth. brush his teeth regularly, there are finger brush available with very soft bristles, but effective in brushing.

start brushing your baby teeth,,if in one week the darkness doesnt go, take him to your dr.
also, taking some kind of iron suppliments or multivitamin that contains iron give this colour to teeth...
if his mouth smells bad, or has odour in his breathe, then there are chances that he is having tooth decay or ne prob related to cavity, or gum decay...
dont want to scare you but start brushing, and observe in a week, or else take him to your dr.
