Ritu replied. I am so relieved that all of you have experienced this phenomenon . But I intend to check with my doc in my next visit. Thanks sooo much for sharing your experience .

Vidhya replied. I am also in the same boat. Sometimes the baby kicks so hard , it hurts , at time its so quiet. Usually, I feel the movements more in the weekdays , as i am most of the time sitting at work, in weekends i hardly feel it as I am always running around. I was reading an article the other day and it said, after 25 weeks, you might feel less kicks , but i am not sure how less.
I think when I go to the doc next I will be asking him clearly how to monitor.

Glad u bought it up...last week i was even scared to think about it, full weekend was like a active little gym in there and then two days and full hush...felt like two taps the whole day...i was scared to even accept to myself forget tell anyone, tried calling the phone nurse, didn't get her luckily saw all forums about kicking frequency in babycenter and was relieved seeing everyone going thru this process..that calmed me down..it was a ton of messages..i even scolded the little one (hee) and was so relieved when it started kicking again..seen if u drink hot milk or really cold orange juice, it does give a tap (when not in mood to play in there)..guess its normal, saw many ques online to gynaec doctors..all the more u should be relieved now with the messages here, since i guess everyone has experienced it..guess the baby has its own rules and takes its own days off... :)
Take care. Thanks for bringing this up..

Suni replied. Hi Ritu,
I was in a similar predicament for the last few days, so went in to see my doctor yesterday. She checked the heartbeat and it was normal. She says sometimes the baby changes position and the kicks end up on our back instead of our stomach and that is why we dont feel it. As long as you feel one occasionally, there should be no cause for worry.
I do recommend going in for a visit if you do get disturbed. It is very reassuring to hear the beat and get a professional opinion.
Happy thoughts,
Suni

Even my babies have reduced their freq of kicking. I asked the doc, he told they r kicking and moving u didnt feel it. Coz he saw them move a lot in u/s.
But surprisingly sterday I was not well and didnt eat well, they were kicking nonstop and was so scared...
My hub says if they kick also I am worried, if they dont also I am worried.... True right...
Dont worry its normal, as Reena said, if there is no baby movement for 2 consecutive dys then call ur doc. Even if baby moves once a day, u know he/she is fine within u.
Enjoy

Sandhya replied. Hi Ritu,
I read somewhere recently that in the third trimester the babies usually put on weight more, so sometimes there is less space in the womb to move about. Maybe thats why the kicks are lesser. Even my twins have stopped kicking as much as they used to do. Guess they're running out of space to move about! I wonder if we should ask our doc abt this?

Reena replied. Hi Girls,
I havent posted a msg in a long long time. Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well in the board.
Though baby kicks have become more and more prominent as the preg. has grown, there are times when the baby is not very active and kicks lesser than usual days. As long as it is only happenning for 1-2 days, its ok. but if you notice it for a longer period, do inform your docs at once.
Even I have noticed less activity for couple of days but it goes back to normal just as you start worrying abt it. the baby cud have changed the sleeping pattern also. so its possible that he is sleeping during the daytime and in the night when u girls are fast asleep, he gets down to his act :-)
so relax and don't worry as long as lesser activity is short lived...
enjoy urselves...
Love,
Reena
