Sleeping:Restless in sleep

my baby is 3 weeks old. I have started using nappy pads since the last 2 days. As a result he does sleep for around 3 hours and more at a stretch. However, he seems very restless while sleeping - he whimpers and moves around a lot.

Is this okay

when my baby was doing the same thing, i started using disposable diapers. It helped him sleep well.
don't get your baby habituate to swing or rocking. you are inviting troubles because afterwards baby will not like to leave cradle, swing or rocking.i had a very bad exp with my first baby so i am strongly suggesting you to avoid swing or cradle.
i also want to add that it is normal for babies to whimper or remain restless.
give him bath before sleep, wrap and then feed him. my baby used to sleep as soon as i would wrap and feed him.

try plastic nappy liners or disposable diapers. your baby is waking up because of wetness.

Couple of possibilitis:

My baby had the same problem, though i was using simple cloth nappies.

I discovered that my baby needs more than 1 burps after each feed. I wd put her down after 1 burp and she wd whimper and b restless. When i started buring her 2-3 times keeping some time gap, she started sleeping peacefully.

However other prob i faced then was that the baby wd wake up. So i started using swing which solved the prob.

See if ur baby has same prob. Or else, it might b bec of gas. Check ur food, check if baby is having gas.

All the best.
Mom.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
