Wow! This home study thing really sounds like a lot of work. Then, you have to submit a lot of documents too. How many times does the social worker come to visit anyway? All this cannot possibly happen in one day. I think that is why the adoption procedure is taking so much time in India. There are so many parents who are still kept on hold by the adoption agencies to adopt a child. Also there are many children waiting to be adopted by adoptive parents. It will be so difficult for them to wait for such a long time to adopt and get their own child.
