Have been noticing something weird with my baby.
He is 3 weeks old and used to have good bowl movements till last week when he went on a alternate day poop schedule. Looks like constipation to me. The doctor said it is common for babies to go without poop for 4 to 5 days. However it worries me.
What is ur experience? My baby is on Formula + Breast milk and I have just started taking Fenugreek Capsules to increase my milk supply.
However this weird bowl movements have started before I started taking the capsules.
What can be done naturally to make sure he has a bowl movement every day ?

My baby is also on BF and formula abt half and half. She didnt poop for a full 24 hrs and in the next 24 hrs, pooped just once. I tried to increased her BF and have got good result. She is pooping more now.

its perfectly fine. as long as stools are not hard..stoold will be soft but the baby may show great effort totake it out and may feel releived after it does so. but the stools consistency shd not be hard.
my son rahul [now 6mths] did this from abt 5weeks of age till he was about 20 weeks.he used to poop only once in 3-4 days and be really uncomfy teh 2nd day onwards. but stools were always soft.yet he wud push and grunt hard to take it out. also as long as the major diet is breastmilk nothing to worry if tjhe baby poops 5-6times a day or even once in 5-6 days...
however if the consistency is hard [inspite of being on breastmilk[ do consult a doc...

my baby is also doing...poo after 2 or 3 days or alternate days and she really feels hard during bowel movement..as she applies so much of pressure and rhen cries a lot too..after poo she feels so realx...i didn't ask abt it from doctor..as every one says its normal depends on baby to baby..
