Does anyone knows how to do SAnthoshi mata's pooja & what procedure we need to follow? Subrat Parida replied. It is recommended that you should only do the Udyapan. Your mother shouldn' t do this. Once you will back to india, you can organise the Udyapan puja and feed 8-boys. Also if the cows are not available in USA then you should keep that gud & channa on every friday and you should feed the cow once you return.

this is not required for the family members to have fast on friday if you are doing the Vrat. It depends on someone who wants it. This is a very simple Vrat there is no restrictions expect sour.

santoshi Maa Trust Sindhu replied. Doing the Santoshi Mata vrat is something you have to ensure you complete and not leave undone.. The things you require to do this vrat are: 1 coconut (you must use this same coconut for all the fridays and then give it in the temple on the day you are doing the udyaapan), gud and channa, a lamp to light the diya (ghee only), green bananas, flowers, dhoop, incense sticks, a copper vessel to hold water, Santoshi Mata vrat katha book, haldi, kumkum, a photo of Santoshi Mata.. Duration: This vrat needs to be done on a Friday, the duration can continue for 16 or 32 fridays. Vidhi: To start your vrat you will begin on a friday, Ideally best done before noon, say the Santoshi Mata katha in front of the ghee lamp if there is no one to listen to the story, One needs to fast for the whole day or incase of sickness can have one meal (without onions, garic, tomato or any other sour flavoring) It can be taken during lunch after doing a ' bhog' for Santoshi Mata. One needs to ensure not to touch any sour things on this day. This is because Santoshi Mata is believed to sit under a milk fall and incase the ' bhakt' touches any sour thing, they not only ' bhrasht' the vrat but as Ma takes her bhakt close to her, it is believed that we also contaminate Mata' s abode.. The next day after the vrat, the bhakt will first thing eat gud and channa to close the vrat and then eat as normal. Water can be had and some people also believe in having milk without sugar. The water which is in the copper vessel can be sprinkled around the house after prayers and the remaining can be put in a tulsi plant. If you do not have tulsi plant, you can add it to the drinking water in the house so everyone will be cleansed.. After the chose duration of the vrat, an udyaapan needs to be done inorder to complete the Poojan in a proper manner.. You will need to prepare items like, puri, channe ka saag, kheer, and feed 8 children (boys).. This can be done at any Santoshi Mata Temple.. After feeding them you will need to give them something too.. I gave them books, pens, and other things I believe will help them gain knowledge and the blessings of Saraswati Ma.. in santoshi mata's vrat on has to fast on friday and perform santoshi mata's puja by reading the santoshi mata's story and offering gud and channi to mata. if u get a santoshi mata vrat book, everything will be written on it.just be sure that u should touch or eat any sour thing nor anyone in ur family should eat sour things on that day.i have heard that its a difficult fast but what ever one wishes,it gets fullfilled.
