Just out of curiosity if u'll don't mind sharing how u r carrying the baby ?All who see me predict it may be a boy coz i have a rounded belly not gained much on hips&sides just a belly which is growing outwards rather than higher.What do you'll feel?
I know there is no medical basis just the regular old wives tale!

Well I am also carrying just the way you described! In fact in my office, my colleagues say that from behind I just don't look pregnant. But in my u/s it's a boy and a girl, I am carrying twins! So I guess these old wives tales do carry some weight!

I am also carrying my bab y low and and by belly looks like a ball (round). I too heard that if we don't gain weight on sides, hips and no where else in the body other than belly, it is a \";Boy\";. For me also, all my friends at office guessed it is a boy based on that and it came out true when we did U/S.

I am the mom-to-be of a girl, but interested in your query ;-)
I have also heard about this, which is not just an old tale. Actually girls inside the womb spread themselves more, while the boys lie in curved positions.
That's why they also say that tummy shapes like watermelon if its a girl, & a football if its a boy. I don't think old tales have no basis.
