Sleeping:5 month old baby sleep breaks

My baby is 5 month old, but when he sleeps at night sometimes he cries because he seems uncomfortable. He is sleepy but something seems to be bothering him and i cant seem to understand what.
1) he usually sleeps on his stomatch but sometimes he wants to turn to his side for some reason and this spolis his sleep and he wakes up crying because he cant yet rollover on his own quickly.

2) we feed him 4 tablespoons of cereal grains mixed with water. It seems alot t me but he finishes it. I am not sure if i am giving him too much. This feed is usually at 9pm and he sleeps by 10:30pm and then takes very little milk.
3) at day time he drinks only 100ml of milk and then doesnt want the rest and then again after two hours he is very hungry. I understand this because he is hardly drinking milk.

Hetal can you please help to give me soe advice. My son used to sleep better before starting the cereal but afterward he know wakes up every two hours and not necessarily for milk but maybe his uncomfortable??? He is going to be 6 months next week.

Thanks

sry for delyd reply,,
1.sleeping on tummy is not advisable before 6-8months.it makes baby ffeel uncomfortble..make your baby sleep on his back, elevated abt(tug a rolled bedsheet below his bedddng and elevate it),and thn let him sleep,,see how he sleeps,,,let him flip, if he wants to.,,its natural.

2.aat 5months, your baby is expected to eat around :

if you are giving more than this,,its likely that your child is being overfed and seems to be uncomfortable in sleep...the second thing i see as a culprit is just after 1.5hours of such a full feed of solids and thn milk as well,,you are making yourr child sleep on tummy !! which should not be practicd nemore,,please avoid that.
by feeding him full and lettng him sleep on tummy will make a bad habit of sleepng on stomach and other bad thing is your child will have digestive problem in future..rem the stomach muscles need to relax atleast for 3hourrs,for 5months old,, after a full meal or feed, and if before that they are pressd or tensed(/which happns in tummy time),,it might not prove healthy in near future.

-- after full feed of solids,,dont eexpect your baby to complete milk feeds,,,,,

3. check the intake he is req to take in abovve link,,,he is expectd to drink milk..rem onething that until your child is of 9months-1year,,,his PRIMARY DIET HAS TO BE MILK...its after 9-10months,most kids need and are ready for solid replacements,,until then along with solids,,your baby has to take bm/formula feeds as required for a healthy grwth..replacing more milk feeds is still better and is quite natural for babiees upto 6-8months thn relyng more on solids,,,,

some kids per intake is less,,respect that,,if thats the case,,my baby was a sparrow,,until she was 7.5montths on exclusv breastfeed and expr bm bottle feed,,she was a typical sparrow,,,but wat counts in 24hours,,count the total intake ! if he is taking that,,m fine !!
reduce the solid intake atleeast until your child is 6months OLD,,,if that makes him drink good iron fortified formula or bm !!!!
this is all the reasons i see as of now,,your baby primary diet is milk/bm or formula and replacing with solids will not only make him uncomfortable but will not give him positivve growth..
i hope, the milk you are referng to is formula or BM..
good luck...

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
