Pl help me. My sister has 5 mnths old son. He has Gastro so doc advised her to stop breast feed as it will worsen diaria. So she stopped for around 8-10 days. During that time she was squeezing her milk out . Now for past 2-3 days,BM has completely stop. What to do to get back BM. Pl help Hetal replied. get a good breastpump to extract milk and the supply is expected to resume by 1 month ! the squeezng doesnt empty the breast,,so the milk supply is controlled,,eventually stopped.
also, its unlikely that in ne condition of illness, the dr advices to stop breastfeeding...
neways,now that it has happend,,start pumping the milk, see if it helps to re-establish milk supply...if she had a good supply of milk, there are 50% chances that she wil regain a good supply by 15-25days,,
ask her to pump every 2 hours,,and dont worry if the results are not good in first couple weeks...or letme say result is zero bm for couple days,,since the bm has stopped because the baby was not latched or bm was not exprssd properly,,,there is possblty that she might regain it.
once the milk suppy establish,,latch the baby.
