What do you think of domestic violence as a crime? Do you know anyone who is a victim of domestic violence?

The article is good. But from the definitions what you have mentioned I can see 99% marriages are abusive only. One partner hurting the other and then not even bothering to apologise can be considered as emotional abuse. Financial dependence also plays a vital role. So all the women should be encouraged to go out for work and have theuir own independent accounts in the bank. Only then will men learn to control themselves and be less angry. By the way, even I have been in similar situations before and still continue to be, though tnigs r better, but i guess this is the best what God has given me.

My friend is in similar waters. It is not just her husband but the mother in law too joins hand to abuse her(verbal and physical). Though financially independant she is unable to walkout of this relationship for the sake of her kid.

A woman cannot just leave her home and children. She needs to know that her decision will be respected and she will not be vilified for it. She needs to be supported by her home, friends, and society itself. Only then will she be able to take steps to protect herself from the abuse.

I can relate to this article. I have gone through the same situation myself. My husband began abusing me 3 months after marriage and I felt so helpless. Finally, I got up the courage to tell my parents. Their support is what convinced me to walk out on my husband. I do not know what would have happened if they had refused to help me.

This article is well written. Often, one has to take into account that the woman may be unable to leave her home. Its all very well to question someone and say ' Oh why don' t you walk out' . Yet, in many situations, a woman simply cannot walk out of her home and leave her family behind.

Hello dear according to me you should not hire maid from an agency because that is the right way and you are giving the entire details and you should always be safe in these matters as there are lots of issues and you should not select these and be safe.... - Anita [View Message]
