I want to get ears pierced of my 10 months old daughter can anybody suggest on right method(gun or goldsmith) and right age .

I just wanted to share my experience with you. I had my ears pierced in my teens with both methods. The wire piercing is definetly better than the gun shot . The gun shot hurts for a week, you cant sleep on your ears and you have to keep cleaning the ear hole. Even removing it after a week is a terrible ordeal. Whereas with the wire piercing I barely felt it when it happened and there were no after effects.

Just make sure that the jeweller is trusted and takes a new wire.

Go to a pediatrician who has ear piercing gun and she can give you calendula ointment which can be used in case of reaction or pain.Use gold sticks or small studs which are more like a nose stickes with push buttons rather than a gold wire which is twisted at ends to make a loop.The loop can get stuck into shoulder strap or clothes and can cause bleeding when pulled accidently.Talking by experience..Take care

A goldsmith--a good one known to you is better.I did the same for my 18 month old daughter.Carry some sugar candy(misri) with you for her to suck on when it gets pierced if you are worried about her crying. msrao replied. Hi, go ahead and get your daughters ear pierced, but use the gun- method, thats very sterile, as compared to the gold smith. I had my daughter' ears pierced when she was 3 months old. But take good care for atleast a week to make sure it doesn't get infected. Also turn the ear-ring once everday, but be careful when you do it, it shouldn't hurt the baby.
