Hi Smart Moms,

Good day. I want to ask you guys the following question. I have a Baby Girl, who is going to turn an year old in August 2001.
I would like to buy her a diamond ear ring for her First Bday. The point is, I dont know if a diamond ear ring will be available for such a small kid. I do not know where to even start lookin for it!
Have you guys done this already for your daughters or know someone who has done this? If any one of you can give me pointers, i will be greatful to you.
Please help me out. If any one knows that there are any shops in India or USA (I live in Minneapolis) who could cater to my need please let me know

You can go to any American Jewelers and you will find Diamond ear rings. I mentioned American because the stem of the ring is very thin and is gentle on the baby's ear. Diamonds sit in 18 karat gold better than in 22 anyway, and you get lot more variety too.You can go to the Mall and you can find ear piercing places where they are trained to do that. A couple of shops are Claire's and Peircing Pagoda, if you do not have these in your area go to the information center in the mall they will guide you. After peircing the ear they will give an antiseptic lotion too.My daughter cried for probably 2 mins which is way too looong. It is just like a shot. Later, try to show her in the mirror and point her ear rings and they get so fascinated but make sure that she does not pull her ear. Hope that helps. Saviya replied. Hi, I live in Oklahoma. I have 2 kids one is 1 and the other is 3, I got both their ears pierced in India and for that age the jewellers sell the nose rings (diamond studs). You\";ll have to buy 2 of course and they work well as they have been wearing them for a while now. I got their ears pierced by \";gun SHot\"; so for about 2 months they wore a sterilized earring and then when I thought it was healed I removed the sterilised roll gold ones and replaced them with the diamond ones.
I'm not sure whether you have a good Indian store nearby which sells diamond earrings, but check it out. nishit replied. Hi Usha, you definitely will find a good pair of diamond ear-rings for your lil one right here in US. Go to your local Indian market where there are Indian Jewellers, cuz I a have a 4yr old and I had her ear pierced when she was 3months old and she's been wearing'em ever since. Sandy replied. The best thing to do is to look for diamond nose rings that have a closed clasp at the back. These are very easy to procure and are pretty safe too.
