Vegetarian Food:proportion of atta and water for soft chappatis

Pl. give the proportion of atta and water to make soft chappatis. Bcos i when i keep on adding water little by little suddenly it become hard.Any one who has tried a stadard proportion pl. reply.

kneed the flour in the way you usually do then spread it in the utensil and sprinkle few drops of water over it .Keep it aside for 5-10 min.
The flour loosens and then you can apply oil/ghee .

There is no need for hot water if you put hot water the flour will get semi baked. First you see that the flour is very smooth like face power then, while making the dough add ordinary water to your required level and in the last add two to three tea spoons(roughly for the dough of 10 chappatis) of oil and see that oil mixes well with the dough. keep it for atleast 1/2 hour. then start making chappatis and see the difference. The main secret is good quality wheat and the flour should be smooth like face powder.

Instead of clod water use hot water and 2 t.spoon of oil for mixing the flour ( use spatula for mixing since the water is hot).
