Due Date Club November 2003:Morning Sickness in fourth month?
2003-05-07

Hi Everyone,
I have just started my fourth month and I thought my morning sickness would stop by now, but that's not the case with me. Actually, I have increased sickness now, I can't keep food in my stomach at all. What do you all do to stop this?
Please advise, I am just not enjoying my pregnancy yet because of this.
Thanks
Arshiya

Hi Arshiya!
Sorry to hear that you're still having m/s. I can really relate to the part of not enjoying your pregnancy because of it.

I had m/s till the end of 13th week. It is ok now. Touch wood!!!!

I used to get up earlier than usual - like 6am and eat Marie biscuits, banana or a dry toast. The key is to just not let yourself feel hungry.

Suck on popsicles. That helped me when I needed fluids but couldn't drink water much.

Try eating an egg. It has proteins and is easy to eat.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Arshiya

I know exactly how you feel when you say u'r not enjoying your pregnancy. I'm in the 12th week now and since last week my m/s has been almost constant all thru the day.. I am at peace only when I sleep. I cannot even go out much beacuse I dont know when I'm going to throw up.
I have read that m/s usually peaks at the end of the 1st and the beginning of the 2nd trimester, and then slowly tapers off. Hope this is the case with all of us .. best of luck everyone!

Hi Arshiya/Nithya,

I know how terrible u both must be feeling due to severe m/s. To avoid m/s u can try to eat some dry biscuits like marie, early morning even before brushing. i have not tried this but i know it has worked for a lot of people i know. Also u can try to take smaller portions of meal. just eat 2/3 of ur capacity and eat few times a day like 5-6 instead of normal 3 meals.

Hope it works for u.

Relax and try to enjoy ur pregnancy (even if its difficult, for ur baby).

Regards/Nikita.

Hi Arshiya,
very sorry to hear that you still have m/s. I can very well relate to you when you say that you are not enjoying your pregnancy because of this. I have just started my third month & for the last two weeks my m/s is very severe. nausea thru out the day & vommitings 12-14 times a day, not able to retain water also. Nurse suggested taking sprite/sevenup instead of water & also suggested suppositories(tablet to be taken thru rectum). By taking this tablet my vomitings have drastically come down to 5-6. Talk to your doc & take some medicine. I heard some people have m/s even in the sec trimester. My mother & sister had it till their fifth month. I am scared about myself.

I had my first appt with my doc. She did an ultrasound. We could see baby's heartbeat. She said I am just where I am supposed to be (7weeks 6days) i.e. I am not a month ahead as nurse suspected during my first visit. Niether do I have twins. My husband is relieved! My next appt is after four weeks.

Take care,
Nithya

Hi Nithya,
Seems like you are worst than me. Poor you! I will have to ask my doc about sprite and 7-up, because I have totally stopped drinking carbonated drinks, also all those contains lots of sugar. I hope it does not stay for the whole nine months, a lady at my work had it for all 9 months. I am sure, it would have been horrible for her.
By the way, do you work? I work and even throwing up 5-6 times a day is lot since, I am in the middle of something and suddenly, I run to the bathroom. I guess it would have been easier if I was at home.
That's nice to hear that everything is fine with you. I have my appt. on May 16th, that's when we will know for sure if we are having twins or not.
Take care
Arshiya

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
