I had c-sction 2 weeks ago and my problem is that when my son tried to suck for BM it doesnt come through- only in drops- s he dosnt latch on, and so i have started pumping my BM and feeding him. Would that have the same nutritional value as taken directly from the breast?

I came across this site only couple of days ago and that is why I am replying to your query this late.
I am mom to 2 month old baby girl and had her by c-sec too.
I live in the UK and had similar problems with breast feeding as yours.
My midwife really helped me through this phase and I am exclusively bf my baby. I wanted to suggest you those tips.
First of all be determined that milk is not there, no matter what your mom or friends say. It helps a great deal when you make up your mind.
Allow your baby to suck whenever he/she feels like and pump after every feed(it could hurt..but it is worth it).The reason you do this is to stimulate more milk supply.
Feed your baby from the breast and top-up with expressed bm or formula, I suggest this becoz my baby lost quite a bit of weight in the first week.

pump at regular intervals and maintain the same schedule,,it will increase your supply !

Yes. Milk has he same nutritional value whether taken directly, or pumped, if you r giving directly after pumping, or, storing as per the recommended guidelines. Don't worry... Meanwhile, keep trying to make him latch on.. If he doesn't know, teach him. Spend sometime doing that before u offer the bottle. As u pump, the milk supply increases, so, u would soon have a breast feeding baby.. Don't worry..
