since last nite i have been having a terrible back pain. It is just the kind of pain that , one feels during periods.even changing positions did not help. At times i felt the pain radiating to my lower abdominal , but that was for some seconds only. The back pain has been constant though. Could not sleep at all during nite .

can anyone pls answer the following :

1) Is this Early Labour ? Or is it False Labour ?

2) When the pain started at nite , i used to find some comfort when i was sitting or walking . But Since morning now , i am again getting that crampy feeling in my back . Archie can u pls tell me what this means.

3) Does real Labour always neccesary starts from the back & then radiates to the lower abdominal or can it be any different than this ? I have also been having some discomfort in my groin ,like a pulling sensation .

Dear Archana,
Seems you are nearing to your big day. I think you will have baby little earlier than your EDD, you are ready.

yes, labor pain/contractions starts from back and gets towards lower abdomen/vaginal area.
The fact you do not get comfort by changing position, changing activity and or walking, seems like you are in first stage of labor which can stay for a few hours to few days.

Keep timing if the contractions repeat at regular interval. And as hours goes by the interval between two contractions becomes short. That's for sure is labor.

To confirm you can drink Jeera water, boil jeera in water for 2 minutes, allow it to luke warm and strain it. Drink this water. If it's false labor you will get discomfort in a few minutes to an hour, if this is real labor you will continue to get pain.

Have your hospital bag ready? If not then get ready, have your husband/support person's phone by your hand.
