Sleeping:Sleep disturbances.

Hi ,
is it okay for baby to wear nappies at night ?. I haven't yet started the practice , but I notice that my baby wakes up on doing susu.. and then I have to clean and change the clothes , so that she goes off to sleep again . Sometimes in sleep , I forget to change the clothes and she tries to roll over to a new place that is not wet . In either case her sleep gets disturbed and sometimes mine too..
I feel that continuous usage of Diapers at night might cause rashes
Please help.

Try nappi pads ...

They hv worked very well for me/my baby.
i too used diaper at night and change it in morning until i discovered that nappi pad was almost equally helpful.

1. they are quite economical as compared to diapers. They cost you 3-5 Rs per pad.

2. no tension of rashes as air can flow

3. they have lesser soaking capacity as compared to diapers. Also, depending on babies position, sometimes sides of the cloth-nappy get wet. This ideally happens as the baby moves (means when the baby is awake). When the baby is asleep, i have not seen the nappy getting wet.

Secondly, cover the baby's legs with a cloth so that even if nappy is little wet, it doesnt contact air and get cold, thus baby is safe.

I have used huggies, koochees and johnsons. Koochees are most economical but not good results.
I prefer using huggies ... buy the biggest pack so it is more economical.

Put a pad at night and change it first thing in morning.
The triangular cloth nappies wont work with nappi pads, u will need square ones. (i assume u know abt them).

What more! Since nappi pads are so economical, i even use them when baby sleeps in noon, or when i take her for evening walk --- a good sleep is important for both baby and other.

Hi Rini,

I use diapers at night for my six month old daughter. I put on a fresh one at night before she sleeps and change it first thing in the morning. I use some baby powder to keep her dry before I put the diaper on She has ben rash free until now and doesn't wake up due to this. I would say you can se diapers at night.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
