I have reda so much baout complexion.ANyone who really knows that how can the infant who is 9 month old complexion can be improved .he is fair from the face but body is dark.IS desi ghee or aloe vera gel/juice is useful for the complexion.if yes then how we should apply.

Hetal replied. lily, about aloe vera juice or gel. at first, if you really have it, it works great, but i would doubt whther its real ! the reason i said that if its real pure form of aloe vera, which actually works, its very expensive ! guess what, a pure extract of aloe vera, there is one florida company who has taken a patent for it, and if you buy those tablets, they are 300$ per some 60 tablets !!
again, i would like to mention that aloe vera refreshes skin, regenerates and stimulate skin cells, but doesnt change the colour of skin.
sicne you said your baby face is fair and body is dark, considering 9month at age, i m assuming that his legs or hands must be dark and not whole body !
if so, its a normal stage,,when babies start to crawl, walk, their ankles, knees, hands, legs turn darker colour,,as they fall often and not everytime they fall, we are able to clean them,every time !!! another reason, in US is carpet ! continuous rub on carpet makes their sensitive skin dry and sometimes it turns black..
once they master these skins somewhere around 1.5 years, when they can actually run ! that time, slowly by 2-3 months, they start getting regular colours on their legs and hands..also to mention, the paste works a wonder for my baby. because it has turmeric and chandan, it not only repairs my baby skin, but also provides cool and goodies of chandan,,,so you might want to try,,gram flour cleans skin better than soap !
so you may try,,after all that, i just want to say, check on your baby responses after using anything new on baby skin,,,even the homeremedies or this paste that i mentioned earlier..esp for allegies and skin dryness.
recently a friend of mine tried this paste,her baby skin was dry for it,so she was fine with applying any good oil before bath with light massage and then giving a bath with paste ! after that no soap,,and just a simple lite moisteriser of j&j baby lotion.
for her, it helped that way...
so look at your baby needs,and good luck

hi lily, sorry i missed your replies.
about the gel, if its pure gel, it shoud not have anyother thing other than aloe vera.all that sodium hydroxide and stuffs arent needed !
so better ask your dr before using any kind of such gel which is doubtful. esp when it comes to skin..
i dont know much in details about its purity, but i have known that the florida company who has taken the patent has the purest form. and in this ingrediants there is only one thing written aloe vera,,thats all.
i will find out soon for you which is the company.
about bath ---
please dont bath with yogurt and stuffs like that...if you want to bathe him, try milk.i have heard mothers of baby who had dry skin, doing that.
since gram flour is dry for your baby, like i said,for some people it has proved dry,,applying a baby oil or any good pure oil before bath helps. or just any ordinary creme before bath with a lite massage, helps.
also if milk,gramflour, turmeric,sandalwood pwder is dry for your baby(means is having nrmal to dry skin), if you get pure white butter that we used to make in india, or if you have that, put that alongwith milk,,,
well, about legs and back have turned very dark, he might be transforming into his actual skin colour. sometimes baby skin colour from his birth remains for just couple months, and then his mature skin takes the colour that will go along wth him lifelong.
the other possibilities is like i told..but in your case, back has turned darker, which is abit worrying me. because for my dd, her legs got a bit darker and rest all was fine,now she is coming out of it on her own.
generally the babies who lie on their back more times or who are given proper bathe on back side have skin turned dark.. i am not sure wat is the case with your baby,,please show it to dr,,if the skin colour difference compared to his actual colour is 50% darker or more.
now its summer time, climate does affect the skin, even though babies dont go out in hot sun,,some babies have shown difference in colour during the climate change, summer to winters or viz versa...
since this is a virtual media, i feel helpless that i cannot help you further..please let your dr see the difference in skin and decide about it.
