Sleeping:Sleep - 2 month old

Hi Hetal and all,
Just a question. After reading all the stories about babies not sleeping I wonder is my daughter sleeping more than she should be??? Though I have read somewhere that babies till 6 months should sleep for 15-16 hrs every day.

Her routing is
She wakes up at6 in the morning At 7.30 she has a small cat nap.
By 8.30 I give her bath and she is ready to sleep by 9.30.
Afer that she gets up only at around 12.30 pm for feed and promptly goes off to sleep to wake up only a 2.30pm.
Afer that she has her catnaps inbetween for 20-30 min at a time till 9 in the night. That is when sleeps. She gets up only 1-2 times at night for feed or change of nappy.
Kindly comment.

if you are going by the specific sleep hours times that are suggested by health boards, then i have to add in there these are on an AVERAGE basis and not that every baby should sleep forthose many hours..
there have been many babies that have shown sleeping hours more than recommended or lesser than least suggested,,but its all individual sleeping patterns..these often change every month, until 1 year..its after that they get somewhat stabilize..
so as far as your baby is not looking tiring even after sleeping well for whatever time she is sleeping,,and not looking exhausted or not getting enough rest, there is nothing to worry.

also,in many places these days, winters are started, so in winters, babies like to sleep more then being active all the time...so with some babies, climate as well affects alot.

take care, dont worry, njoy with your baby.
Good luck

pls don't worry abt her sleep hrs. be happy that she is sleeping. that means her health is in good condition & she is getting enough food. for some moms putting their baby to sleep is a nightmare. as they grow up their sleep pattern will change. so enjoy the time when u have it.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
