Hi,
One week back i gave birth a prematured baby of 7 months. Baby is fine. she is in incubator..and within two more days i need to breast feed her. Now I have lesser quantity of milk to feed? now only i am going to start. Is their any remedy for this. pls advice me for possibility of milk production.
thanks ann replied. even my baby was premature. i had low milk production for few days. but sit throughout the night and morning and let baby suck and ur milk production will increase. now even at 7th month i have enough milk to feed my baby. sometimes u will have to sit for hrs together while feeding but do it and ur milk will increase and do not let any negative thought (or any one else) nag ur mind because it has adverse effect on milk production. and also its advisable not to start formula for ur baby.my doc advised against it, she asked me to sit and let the baby suck and believe me it worked Hetal replied. dealing with bf a premature is matter of worry,,
right now considering that your quantity of milk is less,,,you have to understand that starting its always low..
latch him well, eat a healthy diet,,there are many remedies that you can start to increase bm,,,

just remove the brackets..please read the queries and then the replies,,these posts were different and had diff probs associated with supply of bm !
also note that the possibility of milk production is more or less dpending on how frequently the baby was nursed or milk was expressed on specific intervals,,ofcourse, health of the mother, and that the mother stays stress free, gets adequate rest is also a big plus !!

As u r a first time mom i understand ur concern.u hv mentuoned ur baby was born premature.and u hvnt yet started to feed her..once u start feeding her ur milkwill increase all by itself.the more u feed the more ur milk will flow.so right away u dont need any remedy..just feed her as often as u can.as the baby is premature,it will take some time for her to leAr howto latch properly and master in suvking..
but when u try feeding her very often she will master n learn it soon..
all u hv tyo do is relax n be patirent while feeding.eat healthy.eat fruits,drink plenty of fluids.keep ur body hydrated.milk will come all on iys own..eventually u will see ur baby getting satisfied wirh ur milk..its just a matter of time.in themean time dontget stressed up n all..
patience n effort willshow its trick on ur milk..
