Name: A concerned mom My son is 2.5 yrs old. He does not make proper eye contact when called by his name. He gets very much involved in a perticular activity that he is doing and does not get attention easliy if called. He is also delaying in speech. He speaks over 20 words, but speaks them inconsistently, i.e. he speaks more when he wants rather than when I want/expect him to speak. He also likes playing more on his own than mixing with other kids in daycare. He is very active otherwise. Has anyone had similar experience. I am really worried about this. Is this a normal behavior in kids? or something alarming?

Mild autism

My child has similar behavior and doctors feel it is mild case of autism. since then i have been to speech therapist, behavior therapist and clinical physcologist.

I would appreciate if you can tell me on what all was done for your newphew after that diagnosis.

Hi conerned mom,
my son had similar problems. He is almost 5 now. He is doing really great now and its all because of a speech therapy. I know a very good therapist who was referred to me by several diff Drs & also my son's school counsellor.

my nephew

hi ,

he is fine now n doin great in studies.only thing is doesnt do studies by his own,his mom needs to be always behind him.he speaks alot but while talking he make mistakes.means he is little behind in forming sentences while talkin.so everytime we have to correct him.but he speaks alot now.
my sis took him for some speech therapy.it helped her alot,aleast she got some rough idea how to handle such kids.now also sometimes he doesnt make eye contact.but we have to force him to do it.
dont worry everything would be fine.

hi ,

my nephew suffered the same problem.he learnt to speak when he was 4 yrs old.he used to do the same thing what u mentioned.means eye contact.my sis took him to neurologist than they got to know its mild case of autism.u better check with some neutrologist.

Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
