my baby is 2 and half months old.i dont know how to clean her tongue.pls suggest in this concern.thanks in advance ana replied. if baby is exclusively breastfed, no need to clean toungue.

otherwise, best thing is to ask your doctor how to clean. Please consult doctor when it comes to internal things related to baby.

I used to clean my baby's tongue lke this
1. boil a small plain white clean hanky in water to sterilise and keep it dipped till u use it.
2. for cleaning tongue - wash my hands with soap, tilt the pan with hanky so that i can pull out hanky without dipping my hand in water
3. use a finger in the hanky, open baby's mouth and clean the tougue lightly

DO NOT use anything with water - like sugar/honey. It will be left on the tongue and encourage bacterial attack.

and sweet things attract bateria more!

use plain water.

mother's milk contains some anti-bacterial things, so baby does not get infection.

ana swapna replied. U actually don't have to clean the tongue of infants... The white colour u see on the tongue is due to some milk deposits, which would go away on its own..
But, if u want to, then, u might take a clean towel or hankie, dip it in water (mix with li'l sugar or honey so that the kid wouldn't be irritated, coz of the taste), and gently, rub her toungue with it..
