Hi Hetal and other friends,
I have a baby who is going to be 2 months the coming monday. Of late i have observed my baby is reducing the time of feed day by day. When she was born she used to drink milk for 10 mins break for 5 or 10 mins and then feed for another 20 mins. in total she used to spend around 30 mins for one feed. Later on during her 2nd month it has reduced to 15 mins only. But her weight gain for proportionate to her age and her paed was happy. 12 days back we got her vaccination done. I have observed that from then on she is not having milk properly. She has reduced it to 5-8 mins for the past few days. She is also very drousy as soon as she has feed and sleeps off. I tried waking her up and feeding but no use. she sleeps off again.
otherwise she is very active and playful. She is getting up every hour for feed. this is becoming difficult as i have other works to do also.

I have heard that people at 2 months drink more and sleep for 3-4 hrs at a stretch. How much babies of her age should drink?

I'm really worried. SOmebody please suggest how can i increase her feed time.

Rgds

Hi Akhila, I am sure Hetal will respond with more than I can provide, but some of this may help. As babies get older, they become more efficient eaters so your LO may just be getting more for the time she is at the breast. What about her diapers? Is she having the same number of wet diapers? This is the best indicator that she is getting enough. There is no magic number but the recommendation is usually 6-8 wet cloth diapers or 4 to 6 disposable (just a little harder to tell with the disposables). If she is wetting at least 6 diapers a day I wouldn't worry too much. As for sleep, my baby had periods when she would sleep a lot, usually this was around a time when she was growth spurting. At 8 weeks, you may just be at the end of a growth spurt, which is when the sleeping set in in my lo. Just keep doing what you're doing, wake her during the day for feeds (let her sleep at night if she is wetting enough). Other recommendations for rousing a sleeping baby to feed are to undress her (babies tend to get drowsy when too warm) and also put her on your bare chest. If your lo is doing well in weight as you mention, everything is probably just fine. Congrats on the new babe, they are a lot of fun. Enjoy. Rebecca

Sorry, just went through your message again and noticed the feeding every hour issue. Very typical of a growth spurt. Mine fed all the time when she was growth spurting, I felt like I was glued to the couch. Just keep responding to her demands, it will probably pass in a few days or so.

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
