Children and Safety:Accidental poisoning

Is poisoning by household substances a major concern for your child' s safety? How easy do you think it is for a child to gain access to chemicals and medicines at home? What safeguards have you put in place to prevent accidental poisoning in your home?

Nowadays, kids are extremely smart. Even if you put something out of their reach, they will still find a way to get to it. I think the best way to store chemicals is to keep them in locked cabinets. Of course, the downside is that you could lose the keys yourself and not be able to open the cabinet. However, it is the best way to have such cabinets. You can have two cabinets, one for you bathroom so that you can keep all the soaps, toilet cleaners etc in that. You can have a separate cabinet for your medicines which 3 to 4 feet higher which is away from the reach of your chid.

Subject:  List

I think parents should keep a list of all the chemicals in their house. This way, they can be certain of what exactly is present in the house. If possible, the list should also have the symptoms of poisoning for each of the chemicals listed. If anything happens, they can tally the symptoms on the list and determine the cause. Such precautions help to minimise the risk and the danger. I think even doctors can help the parents to know what symptoms can be caused when a particular chemical enters child’s mouth and proper action can be taken immediately during the times of emergencies.

Subject:  Bai does not listen

I always make sure that we keep all household chemicals out of reach of my son. However, my bai does not listen or follow our rules. I have told her countless times to keep the phenyl bottle up but she continues to keep it down, where my son can reach it. I am so fed up with her. So I have to keep monitoring my house every time so that my child does not get harmed due to it. It just told her so many times that this can be very risky if my child opens it. She never listens to me. I can not even ask her to quit the job as it is so difficult to get bai these days.

Best Play school
Little Kingdom School is the best play school near me that caters to the age group from 2 years onwards with a curriculum based on multiple intelligence.
