hi dharma,how r u doing?
i read your advice to mani and the other ladies who had asked and i must say u r wonderful.i love it how u have listed the points and all the points make so much sense.i have posted a thank u for your advice to me in my previous post.i hope u read it.
itz really cool to see a headstrong, sensible and intelligent girl like u so willingly helping other girls like us who go through painful situations and sometimes have no one to turn to.
To all the other DILS who have posted here,i want to add that mom-in law is no better.
she is dominating and interfering and this inspite of being here in the USA for more than 35 years...and also we r not indians we r pakistanis and the in laws situation there is even worse.
i have married friends here, meaning americans and they too go through horrid situations with their in-laws.so this is not an indian thing like someone mentioned in one post.
no matter what, more or less the same scene is everywhere.
i think we should be strong, take care if ourselves, have a career to fall back on and have a high self esteem always.
ok girls,chao now
thank u all for the great advice u all gave me(i've posted thank-u in my prev posts)
and a big husg to u dharma,u r simply brilliant
take care everyone

Hi Beeno,

You are welcome. Right now, I am simmering as I just discovered that my mil has done something underhanded again. So I am in the same boat as many of you. I have inlaws who are basically nice to everyone else but get a kick out of being mean to me. Life goes on and we just have to look for other things that make us happy.
Ciao
Once again I hope you lead a happy life.

Should a single man live with his mum in India?
I am a man in my late 40s and I have lived abroad in USA for the past two decades. I never had any interest in marrying or having kids so I never married. Recently my Dad passed away and my mother will be alone. I have made enough money to retire comfortably but because I am used to the American lifestyle I can't live in India. Recently my relatives have started saying tha... - Venkat Dabri [View Message]
