Sleeping:Moving to US Pls help

Hi ,

I am currently based in Delhi and living with my parents.I have a 7 month old son Soham. My husband who is working in Bangalore right now is now planning to move to California in the US. We got our visas as well.

This is a very big move for me as over here I was having support of my parents and a full time maid for the baby.

I have a few questions for moms who r already living in the US with their babies as to how they manage it over there.

1.Do you use cloth nappies or r ur babies in diapers all the time? Over here in India we use cloth nappies or bloomers during the day and use diapers only in the night. We have a maid to wash the diapers with hand.So how do u mommies manage in the US?

2.What about home made food for the baby ? Do u prepare urself or use the readymade variety of foods

3.Do u get part time maids /full time maids in Calif ? What about getting cooks and cleaners?how expensive?

4.Can i send my baby to day care if i start working over there (which i plan to eventually)? How r the day cares ? How expensive?

Pls tell me so that my move becomes much more smoother.Although I have travelled to other major countries but only for short visits and this is the first major move which is long term

Pls help.

hai!welcome to US.I have 2kids and both of them are in Diapers.i use it 24 hrs a day.i just leave them free for few minutes after cleaning the potty or change of diapers.there is cloth diapers available but with 2 kids that is lot work to do.if you dont want to ruin the carpet diaper is the best choice.
There are varity of baby foods in the market but you can prepare it in your own way at home.just make sure to bring your pressure cooker.you get all kinnds of fresh fruits and vegetables here.
Maids are available but they are expensive.there are some indian ladies also who help in cooking and taking care of babies.but iam not sure about there rates of any of them in california.but there is all kind of facilities and cleaning produts available so there is no need for a maid for cleaning.
Day care is a good choice if you start working.but each daycare have different rates so you have to shop around for that.there are some indain women who take cae of kids at their home.
make sure to bring all the documents about your childs vaccination as they need it to admit him in the day care.and find a pediatrition as soon as you come here.
california is a realy nice place with warm weather so enjoy your trip.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
