Due Date Club December 2005:Have a question's to ask

Hi just wanted to know
1)Is it safe to drink a glass of milk after having the Iron pills? My Gync has prescribed me the Fefol capsules during night time and Calcium tablets during afternoon.

2)How are you guys coping with the enlarging breast? Till now I have purchased two sets of new bra's and both the set are getting more tighter. If I go for more bigger size then my nipple stands out and can be seen clearly thorugh my dress... So I am having no idea what needs to be done. Any suggestion are welcome.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your suggestion. Regarding the bra query.. My rib size is increasing also my cup.. so right now I am wearing only the slip and covering myself with the dupata. I had purchased sport bar two months back.. but even with them I am not comfortable. I think I need to try with the foamed bra's... Also I will check if we can get the extender here in this city. If they are avaliable then I will sure go for it for another two months. And then buy the nursing bra.

Thanks again for your suggestion..

Hi Ammy,

I am lurking from november board here but couldn't stop myself about Calcium and iron thing. The reason that they should not be taken together is because Calcium interferes with iron absorption. So you should not take a calcium supplement at the same time as an iron supplement - unless the calcium supplement is calcium citrate, or unless the iron supplement is taken with vitamin C (like orange juice).

About Bras I would agree with sushmita .. I found sports bra most comfortable and even in the other I just can not wear underwire bras anymore. Hold on a little bit to buy nursing bras because ur bra size can go one cup more untill the 9th month so plan to buy it in 9th month. In the mean time again if u need extenders (increased rib line)u can buy that seperately but if ur cup size has increased ... no choice but to buy a new Bra. Also, to cover up the nipples u can buy bra's with foam or use nursing pads to cover the showing nipples!!

Hope this helps!

Hi ammy,
about Iron & calcium my gyn also told not to take together. So its better to avoid with milk because we r taking the milk especially for calcium right?
Its my opinion.
About bra when I went to maternity store here that girl she told
if the cup size is same and the breasts r increasing sideways (on the back) u can purchase bra extender it seems. That u can hook up to original bra hooks so it wont increase the cup size it extends the length of the back.
If the cup size is incresed u have to purchase new bra no other choice.
This she told me I think I made it clear to u.

Hi Ammy,

My doctor just asked me to take calcium, iron and folic acid pills at different times of the day (she said it is not a good idea to take calcium and iron together). Not sure whether it is ok to take milk after iron pill. I usually take calcium after breakfast, iron after lunch and folic acid before going to bed.

Yeah, i can go on and on about my bra problems :-). I was 32C before i got pregnant and now my size is 36C!!! It is very uncomfortable when the bra gets tight, so i have been buying a new pair every three weeks. I find sports bra most comfortable, maybe you can give it a try.

Take care,
Greeshma

Hi Ammy,

I am really not aware of the iron pills and calcium tabs. As my doc has only prescribed multivitamins which i have to take only once a day. So i usually have it in the morning after breakfast.

About the enlargement of breasts even i had purchased 2 sets of bras which are till now ok with me as far as size is concerned. The older ones r so tight that it really does not fit. My size earlier was 34B but this time i purchased one size bigger i.e. 34C. Lets c till what time i can wear this.

Forward ur photos of godbhariye at mihikawarrier(at)yahoo(dot)com.

Bye and take care,

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
