Planning a Baby  Discussion Forum

After a long quest with infertility I conceived with donor insemination. But after having the baby I feel extremely hopeless, full of guilt, miss my old life and regret the whole desicion totally. It is always better to have a child naturally or through adoption. I hate my experience totally. I cannot bond with the baby I just dont know what to do???? R u feeling guilty because you had donor insemination? It is also likely that you are experiencing post natal depression[if your baby is still small]. Don't worry. Its common for new mothers to feel depressed and not being able to bond with the baby.
You must have had donor insemination after a lot of thinking. How does your hubby feel about it? No matter what, u both r still the mother and father of the little one and no one can ever take that away from you. You took the right decision by having a baby this way rather than remaining childless.The bonding happens once the mother gets over the fatigue of taking care of a little baby and starts enjoying being with it. Don't worry. It will happen soon.
I also would suggest that u take some time out for yourself and do something that u enjoy. Otherwise new mothers get very upset about thier life taking such a drastic turn as they have no time for themselves. I also feel u did the right thing by not telling family members cos that may affect the way they treat your kid. U can always vent your feelings out on this board.
