My 2 month old daughter sleeps for only 10-12 hours a day. Is it normal ??
Her sleep schedule is from 3 in the night till 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Till now, I have been following her schedule. I mean,I sleep only around 3 in the night, and wake up at 9 or 10 in the morning. But, I have to get back to work next month, and, I would have to wake up at 7, atleast. So, need to sleep early.
I tried to change my baby's timings. I tried waking her up when she is sleeping in the day time ,but, she becomes very fussy and cries, till she is put back to sleep. Please help me change her timings. I would love it, if she sleeps from 11 in the night, till 7.

if your dr is ok with his growth, i dont see ne worries there..
for 2 months, its advisable to make your baby sleep atleast 14-16 hours..since babies have different sleeping hours,,these are the recommended so that they grow well as they wont be overtired and will show positive growth.
giving a good massage certainly helps. esp a good massge followed by a bath or the either way. what matters is your touch that will relax his body...
check my post to nikki about massage, its excellent..my baby sleeping hours were always less,,12 hours straight from the 3rd month,,,but this did help her to an extent that she would sleep for 14 hours...
its worth gving try.
like you said she is vomitting,,,if you are reffering to spitting of milk after feeds, its ok ! all babies do that, until3rd monht,,,its their reflxes that arent matured yet...until now they were in womb absorbing all nutrients readymade by your body,,now when on his own, it takes a time of 3 months for them to learn !
also, excess feeds sometimes makes them vomit or spit out excess,,so check on his intake acc to his age.
also, spitting, vomitting might be due to any spicy foods or gassy food consumed by mother,if she is bf,,,so avoid them,,will help to some extent..
if its the gastric reflux, curd like thing, try dr browns bottle,,its a great inventions for colic and reflux babies !
take car & good luck,,

my 2months old daughter used sleep at 1am to 9 am during her first month.but i have successfully changed her to 10 to 7.i am giving her good massage by 9pm follwed by warm bath.make sure to give nice message to her back it will make her sleep.make sure ,her hair should be completely dry.put on bed light and start feeding her. spend at least half an hour to make her sleep with in a 3 days she will start to sleep at that time.if u dont want to give bath ,give her a back massage with a baby cream.

Thanks a lot for the advice on how to massage (Ur post to Nikki).. I have been following it, and, guess what? Now, my kid is sleeping from 11 to 9.. I didn't know that massage and bath could be so effective.
Thank you again..

Thanks for the suggestion. Let me try that. Could u also let me know if sleeping only for 10-12 hrs is normal ? My baby vomits a lot (almost after every feed) and, doctor said that it is okay. I somehow feel she would sleep better if this problem is solved.
Anyway, would let u know if massage is effective.

My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
