hi hetal
at first i gave him cow's milk in addition to bf,but he never took it comfortably.i am in my mother's house for first 5 months which is a village.but when we found that it would be a problem after coming to bangalore,we changed to formula milk.but of no use.he did not accept it completely.i gave him lactodex.
when i asked doctor abt it,he told to continue bf.but i want to stop it.his bowels are ok.now he is ok from cold and cough.
one more suggestion from u,my son has the habit of drinking milk near me before sleeping.even if i make him sleep,he wakes up in middle and drinks milk and sleep, else he cries a lot and wakes.i want to get rid of this habit.plz help me.

also let me knof if you are willing to bf longer..i wanted to know his weight,,it will determine whether he is getting enough from you or not ! he takes less or is it that your supply has reduced ?? do you feel heavy on breasts after his feeds ? if so your milk supply is good and he is drinking less from you ,,and if you arent feeling that fullness,,,then prob he needs to start on formula and that he is not getting enough from you....however, after starting formula you can continue bf or wean him off,,upto you...

hi there,
at first, for some schedule & tips check my post to abhiram dated 6th sept, 2006,with subject need help...
there are some tips for 10month old there and you can follow that.
now about the weaning tips. before weaning your baby off, have you introduced her ne formula ??
check my weaning tips to akansha & disha...note that age of the baby doesnt matters what matters is if baby and mother are ready for weaning.
wat is his birth and current weight ? please let me know that,so that we know about his weight gain..

how is his growth as of now ???
bangalore is a cold place, esp now in winters so you have to be cover him nicely.keep him well ventilated at the same time, make sure his feet, head, chest to throat are covered whole day.these are the most sensitive parts from where babies catch cold. instead of wool, make him wear 2-3 inners or 2-3 layers of clothing..this will keep him well ventilated and not feel irritated at the same time. if required the let uppermost layer be thin wool.bagalore is cold but not chilled,so should be fine.
prefer to bathe him in noons and just after bath, apply vicks babyrub on his chest, back of the chest, feet and a light touch on his neck...this will avoid to some extent to catch cold..
make sure whenever you go out in open, and whenever there is cold breeze, he doesnt talk much. i know its tough for kids to amke them remain silence but this will prevent him from dry cough.
other than that, not much we can do to avoid seasonal colds and coughs.

hi there, acc to his birthweight,he should be around 10.5kgs..upto 400grams is ok and the rest 600 can be achieved !
did you try to changing textures of his foods..please try that,,
also, want to add that this thing started eversince your started formula,,so try changing to other brand of formula.someetimees change in brand changes taste of the formula and so baby often seems to be ok with new one.....
you were giving cows milk from birth ?? was he ok with it,,if so ,why did you stop tht and started formula ????
if he was ok with cows milk,(which is very unusual but people do practise that),,,then it means his apetite is now used to it,,as you were giving it from right from birth !! so now formula is light for him,,because compared to formula,,,cows milk is heavier !
is he doing this right from 4th month(when you stopped cows milk),,if so then try giving cows milk and then see his reponses to foods.
check with your dr about this and then let him give you some other brand of formula ! and now that he is 10months old, it was kind of unusual to switch him to formula,,generally 10months onwards people start weaning their kids and some even introduce them cows milk ! in your case its going viza versa..couldnt understand that,,but now that he is 10months, ask your dr about it..
too many frequent cold and cough,,might be because of some recurring infection that he has it often,,and sometimes the weather of new place itself a reason..so ask your dr about its frequency !
his weight is just some grams less, rest is fine,,i dont see nething else..
check his gums, swollen, redish pink,is sign of teethign,,check my various posts in feeding board to various people,,you will come to know about the other diet you can give..keep trying and offering more solids and varieties of foods, fruits, vegiees.also kids from 9months onwards show their likes and dislikes, but we have to keep trying,,whenever your child is not feeling well, expect loss of apetite..
how are his bowels and what does your dr have to say about your baby acceptance to solids ????
offer him more intresting foods,,and see if he accepts that,,other than that i dont neother thing that makes a 10month old cry when food is offered..

hi hetal
thank u for replying me.mine was a ceserean.since his birth till 4 months we gave cow's milk in addition to bf.after that i changed to formula as i moved to bangalore.till now i am giving him formula milk sometimes rarely.he doesn't take that also completely.75 ml is more for him.when i feel my milk is not sufficient i give him formula.his birth weight was 4.25kg&at present his weight is 9.5kg.his growth is ok,but he is very thin.i feel my breasts are normal before and after feeding.he is more towards bf.he is taking less solids.
he takes a lot of time for half cup of food.till i am giving him food like soup.recently he is not taking even 2scoops of cerelac also.at night he is not taking solids.even if i try he cries a lot.
bye

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
