hi,
my baby girl is 8 months old but yet she is not a good sleeper. she wakes up several times at night i try her water but sometimes she just does not want to take it but when i give her milk she goes back to bed drinking it. i want her to sleep thru night now. i feed her right before she is sleepy i normally give her dal-chawal mashed or a cereal shud i increase the qty of feed i give her because she does not sleep soundly if some noise comes she wakes up.
pl. help me know what is the matter she does not seem to be cranky otherwise only when i take her to sleep she becomes cranky.i dont know what bothers her but now i need a sleep as i have 3 yr old kid too. pl. suggest some remedy.i have tried bathing her before sleep too but no help.

hi,
increase her playtime or activity levels thru out day.
dont make her sleep or go to bed, after 6..her last nap should be sometimes in noons and should end by 530 followed by a little snack rightaway and then dinner at sometimes 8,830.
her dinner time should be atleast 2.5 hours ahead of her sleep time.here, somewhere around 10.1030.
a good play inbetween dinner time and bed time.
as the child progress to 1 year, they need some little snack or a good whole 8oz milk or formula before sleeping...so gvie that,,snacks include anything from 1/4 cup of any noncitrus food like banana, boiled apple or if you are giving any dessert, give that.
rather than increasing feeds per feed, try introducing mini meals or snack times with little foods..babies get overwhelmed when they see alot of food,,they like to eat in tit and bits and they eat well that way !
so take care and good luck !

My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
