Due Date Club December 2005:Vaginal discharge,

For all of you on this month club.
Vaginal discharge, or white discharge is very normal during gestation.
It will increase as the gestation is progressing and no concern at all.
It can be white to colorless without any typical odor.
However if you experience any itchiness, burning sensation combined with discharge then it's likely be a yeast infection or bacterial infection and require treatment.
ANy discharge that has odor or color should be checked for culutre and treated if found infective.

Vaginal discharge also increases from your physical activities and when you are tired, there is no concern.

good luck to all of you, I post this becasue I realized white discharge is causing concern to some of the expectant moms on this board.

On the other hand those who do not experience should not treat that they have something wrong. Finding vaginal discharge is normal and not finding it is not indication of any bad things with pregnancy.

Dear Archie,

Thanks a lot for your valuable comments and suggestions. We always appreciate your advice. It eases the worry for most of us!!

Just one thing, is it ok to use panty liners if the discharge gets heavier or better to avoid using anything?

Thanks
Rids

rids,
as long as there is no congestion it's Ok to wear panty liners, rather I recommend.
keep area aerated however and wear cotton textured cloths, no sysnthetic, just to keep out of yeast infection because they get in the congested and tigh sweaty environment.

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
