Due Date Club October 2007:working moms

If there are any working moms on the board? I work a full time job and find it tough to come up with a good diet plan. I just try to eat only recommended stuff in every meat. Here is what I do roughly:
8 am - toast and orange juice with calcium.
10.30 Am - cereal with soy milk.
12 noon - rice and veges.
5 - some veges or veg juice.
7 - dinner (Anything I am not too tired to cook)

It is so difficult when you can' t find time to cook elaborate meals and they say you should not eat frozen food.

Do you all have any better ideas?

hi,

your diet plan looks better. I find myself going to the vending machine all the time. I stopped carbonated drinks/caffine...but i did not stop eating junk :-)

I usually cook in the mornings .. because am having terrible evening sickness.

i did eat frozen stuff..in my first prg. like frozen rotis, curries etc. I guess its ok as long as there is no MSG and certain things you really need to be careful about. check with your doc. Just watch out for expiry date.

Whats is my lunch bag? Apart from lunch -
I keep lot of cereal bars, Fruits-grapes, oranges etc.
Nuts - almonds and walnuts (good for baby' s brain)
I have atleast 1 Yoplait smoothie/yogurt .. lots of calcium. My doc recommended me Ensure - but i never liked the taste.
Orange/Veg juice is a good idea too

Let me know if you have some great ideas

Hey nice to meet someone in the same boat and thank you for you tips :).

I was eating yogurt too and then got afraid of the aspartame in it. Watch out for that. I have been thinking of getting baby carrots or some blached veges and dips for snack attacks. I like your nuts idea too.

Can´ t think of much else. Being so tired all the time does not help much either :).

Hi,
I was working till some time back and then i quit, just couldnt manage the travelling and the stress.

You have to eat 2 fruits everday(Eat the whole fruit instead of juice),also there is no Dhal in your diet along with Chappatis. Please read the diet section in this book called Pregnancy by Nutan Pandit.

Drink lots of fluids and milk aswell and take your job easy.Dont get stressed.

All the best!! Take care.
