I have a 2 month old baby girl who is doing great apart from the fact that she has this unpredictable feeding schedule. She can sometimes go for 3 to 4 hrs without a feed and wants to be fed every 45 mins at other times
Is this normal ? Will she settle into a routine as she grows older ? Do I need to try and guide her into a schedule ?
I bf her, she had a lot of gas earlier but hasnt had this problem since her doc gave us some drops for this. I dont think the feeding pattern is due to a gastric problem but any suggestions are welcome Hetal replied. giviing it a try for schedules regarding a good night sleep and sleeping patterns might work sometimees. although it dpends on baby own timings too.but putting them to feeding schedule is not a good idea.

your baby is 2months old right now, which means she has entered 3rd month, its a milestone month for her growth,her head will get steady, her backbone getting strong so that later on 4thmonth onwards,,she wil start to sit with support or roll over,,her eye and hand coordination will be in her controls..
considering all this, once she enters 3months, she is no more considered as newborn infant. she is baby now,,so obviously her apetite will slowly try to come to schedule of 3-4 hours without feed,just like babies do !

there is nothing to worry..babies are programmed very well to get mad whenever hunger strikes them and they ask for it..they might do this sometimes even though it might not be their regular times of feed,,these days are experienced by babies mostly every 3months and in some every 1month,, until their completion of 1year...these are growth spurt days.

right now tryin to put her schedule will be like trying to mess with her natural process of asking for feeds. please avoid that.thats y they say 3months onwards, bf as on demand, and mostly its expected for 3month onwards healthy babies to ask for feeds atleast or around or 5-6 feeds on demand..once a while extra feed or less,,is no problem at all.

having gas is pretty normal until 3moonths of age,,you were lucky to get rid of it a month early,,for some it lasts until starting of 4months,,
so njoy with your baby..as far as its asking for feeds at her needs, there is nothing to worry.some 3months old onwards can go without feeds at night 0r once a while daytime,, from 3-5hours and some need to fed every 3hourrs,it also dpends on quality of milk sp.the fat level that mothers body has produced as hind milk and baby level of acceptance to it.
