Name: A mom

Hello,
My daughter will be One soon(In this month end). I am in India, and I am working. I leave my daughter to a day-care who also has a playgrp and nursery running with higher age kids. (upto 5) Now my problem is I leave my daughter at around 10.00. She gets up at 7.30 - 8 in the morning. She takes 120-150 ml Milk after getting up. I give her some biscuits with milk, or cerelac around 1-1.5 spoon or only milk while startign from home again that is around 9.30. My problem is when I am taking her she sleeps on the way & or sometime after reaching there. She sleeps for good amount like 1-1/2 hrs at time. I feel she should be active and playful during that time since they will be having some new activity every day. like taking kids to garden to outdoor play with songs etc. I feel that my daughter should not miss the mornign sessions. after 6 she is going to be part of that playgroup. I think that I should set her morning routine so she doesnt miss her school or sleeps during that time. She is small now. I also feel that it is not right on my part to ask for too much by controllign their routine in your way.
Any ideas if I have to give her different breakfast so she doesnt feel so sleep etc ? please advice. I also feel while leaving the house is she should not be empty stomach otherwise will cry a lot after me leaver her there. When I am home over the weekends she doesnt sleep during that time. Any suggesstions ?

A child from 6 months to 3 years sleeps 12-14 hrs in total 24 hrs day time. 10-12 hrs in night and 2-3 hrs in a day. So you can mold their sleeping time according to ur convenience.

As you say,it's too early to worry about their routine. When my daughter was 1 yr she also used to take two naps a day! Now her routine is different.Maybe, you can try putting her to sleep early in the night so that she gets up early in the morning, say around 5.30/6 and again takes a nap by 7.30/8.She'll also be fresh when she reaches the daycare.Hope this helps!

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
