Infertility Solutions:Diabetic and PCOS

I am 34 years old and diabetic. I have had irregular periods and have PCO. I take metformin 500 mg 3 times a day .We have been trying to get pregnant for past one year.
My husband's sperm tests are normal. We tried Clomid ..No luck! Then we moved to follistim and IUI. I got pregnant in the second cycle and miscarried in the 6th week. (HCG levels dropped).

Third cycle was unsucessful. How important is the Insemination timing and does intercourse before and after IUI improve the chances of conception?

I am only left with one more cycle(because there is no insurance coverage after 4 th).IVF is also not covered by the Insurance.

I am just hoping that the 4th IUI attempt will be succesful but if it is not. Can I get pregnant naturally by tracking ovulation and timing the intercourse properly. I am not obese but I plan to follow a good diet and exercise regime. Can I get pregnant naturally?. Please advise!

Thank you.I am 12 days past IUI and will do a HPT day after tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers crossed. This cycle I was Hyperstimulated, mild though.

I will talk to my Doc about going on only follistim -Ovidrel. Have you heard about something called Self insemination because you know when I ovulate with Follistim+OVidrel and if we are not able to have intercourse (Pressure you know). Can we perform Self Insemination. I have heard that there is a syringe that we could use. My husband's sperm count is just fantastic and motility is great.

Anyway keeping my fingers crossed for this cycle.

Hi,
In my opinion,IUI is meant for the people with low sperm count. Now since your
husband's sperm count is good, and considering your Insurence issues I would definitely
go on follistim and Not be on IUI.I hope your Insurence covers Follistim and other Meds.
I know of a friend who failed on IVF with PCO(but was not diabetic). She did conceive on Clomid+oviderl(to release eggs from follicles)

I hope this info helps!
