I have been a silent reader of this board. I have a 7 weeks old daughter. As I had c-section i did not get enough milk from the start. Doc put me on perinorm tablets. If I take the tablets I get good supply of BM as soon as i discontinue it goes down. So from the first I am giving 1/2 feeds of lactogen.. basically ned based when i feel the bm is not enough or baby is still hungry. Now my Q is for how much long can i take the tablets? will they cause any problem to the baby??

Swatts Hetal replied. if there is ne milestone delay with your child development and your child seems to be behaving different after certain dosage of ne milk prductive tablets,,there is a possibility that these tablets might have not been a good option for you.
as far as milk boost is concerned, all that i mentioned about increase in milk production can be practised. frankly my personal opinion about taking ne such medication does effect to the baby or mother in some way. the only reason i see is its not natural reason. and i would rather substitute my baby feeds with formula instead of concentrating on bm so much ! agreed that bm has alot of nutrients but i would personally avoid to take ne medcination for milk production. milk boost is the natural thing, and my belief to it, is if healthy diet is taken properly, mother can produce well,yeah there have been cases where those functions werent upto the level of expectations, but if it was me, i would avoid ne kind of medication that would increase my milk supply, or regulate periods..
so this was my personal opinion about tablets. no matter how safe they are, there are side effects for all allopathy medicine and whenever you take ne medication to boost your energy levels, hormonal levels or in your case milk boost, in longer run, you might get 1% of its side effects..
check on the side effects mentioned by the manufacturer of the tablets and watch on them, if you or your baby is showing ne of such side effects,stop using at once and talk to your dr !
