Are Teen Boot Camps Appropriate For All Youth?

Most parents usually begin looking for teen boot camps because of the rigid structure associated with military style boot camps. Other options that are becoming more popular are the military schools and specialty boarding schools that are geared toward producing long-term results in a teens behavior. These military and boarding schools are more diverse which allows them to
effectively work with a more wide range of troubled teens than a boot camp. For example, many of these schools offer therapy, counseling, and seminars to help teens get to the bottom of what is really causing the problems in their lives. The schools combine these options with the military-type structure to produce long-term change in the behavior of troubled teens.

While boot camps can be a very effective way of teaching discipline and sending a message to a troubled teen, they should not be mistaken as a means to deal with the underlying emotional issues that are inherent with bad behavior.

TeenBootCamps is very enthusiastic about their ability to offer boot camp-style programs, military schools, and specialty boarding schools to parents with struggling teens!

This site gives very informative information on the pros and cons of military style boot camps.
It gives insight on enrolling a teen in a military style boot camp and if it would be more beneficial for the short term fix as opposed to getting to the root of the teen' s problem and fixing it over a longer period of time.

In addition to boot camps, before entering your child to a boot camp, you must consider if your child can take the solid structure and atmosphere of a boot camp if you want him to make the most of his stay. They may require the trainees to be in uniform while authority must be firmly recognized as they undergo training. If your teenager shies away from authority and has generally chosen an indifferent approach in handling his emotional issues, then a boot camp may not be good for him.
