hi archie,
my general physician has asked me to visit a hemetologist. but the doc said, high esr cud be due to my menses cysle also.. the urine analysis result also had some bacteria. the time i took the blood test n urine test, i had this spotting(hope u remember)cud this bacteria and spotting be a cause for high ESR? i also had slight fever at that time..whn i gave the blood to test.im so worried..is there a iron capsule available over the counter? thanks for ur reply... yes, bacterial infection can lead to high ESR, that's very likely.

I don't think ESR would drastically increase by menses, but could be that menses will add to your bacterial infection.

The best bet is to treat infection first, no matter it causes any symptoms or not. If bacteria are in urine means sperms are less likely to survive in contaminated vaginal environment.

Seeing a heamtologist is good idea to improve on blood part.

Yes, iron caps are available otc, but the best is to get same prescription from your hematologist, he sure would do.

Iron intake may constipate you so don't forget to add green vegetable, fresh fruits and fibers in your regular diet.
