could somebody give me the recipe for gujarati khichdi (moong dal ) as well as kadi ...thanks i really appreciate it

hi shals,

For khicadi,

1 cup rice
1/2 cup moong dal
2 cloves
1/2 tsp jeera
small piece of ginger chopped
2 green chillies.

Soak rice n dal for few hours.In cooker heat ghee add jeera,cloves when splutters than put chopped ginger n chillies than put whole rice n dal mixer .3 cups of water.wait till 3 whistle.serve hot with ghee

For kadi
this is simple gujarati kadhi

Ingredients:
1 cup curds
3 cups water
2 tbsp. gramflour
1 green chilli
1/2\"; piece ginger
1 stalk curry leaves
1 tbsp. coriander leaves finely chopped
3 pinches asafoetida
3 pinches turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. each cumin & mustard seeds
8-10 grains fenugreek seeds
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. ghee

Method:

1. Beat curds, water and gramflour to a smooth mixture.
2. Crush chilli and ginger to a paste, add to above mixture.
3. Heat ghee in a deep pan, add seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida.
4. Allow to splutter, add mixture, stirring continuously till it boils.
5. Simmer on low, add all other ingredients, except coriander.
6. Allow to simmer for 12-15 minutes.
7. Add coriander leaves just before serving.
8. Serve hot with rice.
