Hello everyone, i'm looking for a simple recipe for prawns curry for 4 people. Please reply. Thank you in advance. maitri replied. hi, my son is 19 months old. Hi, This is the kerala style of prawns curry... quite similar to Aparna's Goan style...

Procedure:
Put 1 teaspoon oil into a pan. Put in methi seeds. Put in grated coconut, 3-4 red chilly(depends on ur taste), dhaniya powder, 4-5 garlic cloves, curry leaves. Keep stirring till dark brown.
Then grind it in a mixer with water into a fine paste.
Meanwhile, you can semi-cook the prawns in water, salt, turmeric, curry leaves.
Then add the coconut paste to it.
Keep cooking as long as the prawns do not absorb the curry well.
Then heat some oil in a pan, put in some onions, fry them & then garnish the prawns.
This also tastes great with rice.

Hope u like it. Aparna replied. hi, here's how i make prawn curry (goan style)...
you'll need 1 coconut (grated), 7-8 dhania seeds, 2-3 cloves garlic, 7-8 methi seeds, a little ghee and shelled, cleaned prawns.

procedure: take a quarter of the grated coconut and grind it in a mixer with dhania seeds, garlic, red chilly powder, little haldi and salt and water (as required for a thick paste). in a pan heat a little ghee, put the methi seeds and then put the ground masala paste and fry it a little, then add the prawns and let them soak the masala in. take out milk of the rest of the coconut and once the prawns are semi cooked add it to the pan. stir and bring to a boil on medium flame. then reduce the flame and cover and let it cook for abt 10 mins.

this recipe goes best with plain steamed rice.

p.s. when u grind the masala, make sure the color is a dark orange. also it tastes best with fresh coconut milk, not with the ready coconut u get in the market. so it might be a lttle hard work but its worth it.
