my daughter is 15+ months now. my prob is i want to stop breastfeeding her. gradually i have stopped daytime feeds. now only night feeds are left. my child gets up at night aroung 5-6 times. am unable to understand the reason for this. why she gets up so many times at night. bcoz of hunger or something else? and everytime she gets up, she wants BM. this making impossible for me to stop breastfeeding .
pls guide/advise. thanks Hetal replied. it has become habit,stop it. baby will fuss to suck it, but refuse..rock her, keep alite music, sing to him, neways stop her asking for it. you know how your baby is getting diverted..so try those options. dont make it habit.
try putting a pillow next to her,and also your cloth piece which you have been wearing..some babies get up just to get smell of mom,,which often comes from breast while bf.
also make sure she drinks good fluids thru out the days and is hydrated,,and is eating good in dinner..this way, she will prevent herself gettin up less time at night,,as she is full and doesnt need to drink fromyou !
also, since she will be well hydrated, thru out day, there is a possibility that she will feel less thirsty at night ! and wont mistake with bf.
now that she is 15months, please try to stop,give her water when she asks for bf.i know its hard for mother to let her cry or fuss asking for feeds at middle of night, but sometimes you have to tough to make them come to good habits !
