Name: Pridu hi archie n friends,i already posted this..but no reply..plz help me...im new to this group, but i hv been a silent member all these while..and i shud really appreciate...its such a nice forum.anyways, let me come to the point..i have irregular periods these days...like usually i get it in 23 days since i got it..and now for two times it came in 18 days and i did not hv bleeding..i had faint blood..for 5days like very little each day.im so scared. i hv got an appointment from a gynec. i live in US. and im plannin to get concieved too..plz help me.thanks in advance

Dear Pridu,
Seems your cycle are very short. If they are regular then conceive won't be trouble but 18 days cycle is too short to consider. If this is true then all you have to do is to have intercourse while on period. I am sorry that's the only way you can get pregnant. Even then with 23 days cycle you need to have intercourse almost on CD9 to CD11 to help conceiving chances.

Ovulation

Dear Pridu,
With cycle of 23 days you are likely to ovulate on CD9 or CD10. So having intercourse two days before and one day later is good.
With cycle of 18 days you will ovulated while you are in period. But not necessarily each period is result of ovulation. YOu can have period without ovulation, this is what your gynec will decipher on.
