How do you bathe your baby? What safety rules do you follow while bathing your baby? Does your baby enjoy the bath?

You have to be very careful while giving a bath to your baby. I use my hand as a protection and put it on the forehead of my baby so that water will not come in contact with his eyes and nose. I have a small round bath tub. I fill the tub with lukewarm water and place my baby in the tub. I put a plastic cushion behind him to give him supports. Then I wash him with water and lather with Johnson’s baby soap and johnson's baby shampoo. After bath I wrap my baby in the hooded towel. At last I massage him with Johnson's baby oil and apply some baby powder. My baby quite enjoys his bath.

Bathing infants daily is not a good idea. My doctor told me that bathing babies twice or thrice a week is enough to maintain hygiene. Giving bath to baby every day can dries out its skin. It is better to wipe babies with a warm washcloth when you are not giving them a proper bath. I would recommend cleaning your baby’s face and hands with cotton pads everyday. I wash my baby twice in week and I do it by placing a baby on my lap (Indian style). I sit in the bathroom and put the baby of my lap. I keep my legs straight. Then with the use of the bucket and a mug I carry out the bathing session. It takes about five minutes to bathe a baby. My son cries a lot while having bath but I think it is normal.

I always preferred kitchen sink to give my daughter a nice bathe. I fold a soft towel and put it in the sink. I place my baby on the folded towel as it offers nice cushion. I give support to her back. There are special tubs available in the market. You can choose the size which will be suitable for your baby. I bought one tub but still I think bathing a baby in the kitchen sink is much more comfortable than bathing in the tub. I take extra care to avoid contact of soap with the eyes of my baby. I also take care that she will not lose her balance. I constantly hold her. My daughter enjoys a bath very much. I have bought some toys for her. Nowadays I can recognize from her sign language that she want to take a bath.
