Five Great Ideas to Celebrate Women's Day

Women’s Day should be celebrated by every woman as her existence and contribution to the society is priceless. A woman has a role to play in every facet of life and therefore due respect must be paid to her by observing this day. Here are five great ideas for women to celebrate Women's Day.

Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 8th March. There are so many different ways to celebrate this day. So, the question is, how are you going to honour the special day this year? Here are some ideas to have a good time on Women’s Day with family and friends.

1. Organize a Get Together with all Your Women Friends

This sounds to be really good to meet all your friends at least those who are in your locale. It can be “high tea” or dinner party, depending on the convenience of you and the guests. You can have lunch together, if you wish. There is nothing better to celebrate the special day for ladies with all female friends.

2. Do Something Relevant for Gender Equality

Organizers of International Women’s Day are asking people to continue the work started on the first Women’s day. So, pledge to accelerate gender parity within your family and friends circle. You can think and plan how to make a difference to the lives of women, in general. Help them accomplish their dreams, work for demanding and getting gender equality in leadership positions and challenge typical gender biases.

3. Look for an Official Women’s Day Event in Your City

Check out the websites or make a quick search to find if there is any campaign organized on the day by focused organizations. You might end up spending your day in a career festival, networking event or in a tech conference.

4. Play Quiz on Female Creativity

If you are invited to someone or you have invited your female friends to your house, organize a quiz and see what you know about great women of different eras. Women have been offering significant contribution in different fields around the world. Prepare for the day and do your homework. You will be able to relive the feelings of the school girl in you. On the other hand you can also check out a new female writer or any new reading material that has arrived on the book store recently.

5. Take Initiate to Improve Life of Women in Your Society

International Women’s Day is the best time to start a conversation on gender equality regardless of the fact to which part of the globe you belong to. Let other women talk about themselves or the problems they face, at home, in workplace or in society. Taking the initiative might turn out starting a campaign for the betterment of women in your community or society.

If you pause and think, you might come out with many new and different ideas. You might have spent this day pampering yourself and enjoying till today. Why not make a difference and do something actually for the betterment of females in your locality and country? Charity begins at home – you must have heard this before. It is time to give this saying the real meaning. Celebrate the Women’s Day in such a way that you too feel proud to be a woman all the year round.

In addition to the above, you can also think of donating to a good cause this special day. There are many organizations working all over the world to help girls and women. Donate as much as you can to any organization you feel like. You can also make a visit to one of these and see the work going on out there. There are women fighting against domestic violence, fighting for economic independence, for justice in different ways. Help them in whatever way you and your family can. It will definitely make you give a meaning to your life.

Last but not the least, you should advocate for yourself. Speak up about your wants and needs at your workplace and home. You have to fight for equality and so, exercise your voice this Women’s Day.
